When you connected the printer to the computer with a USB cable, the Windows Update installation failed.
Important: You must follow these steps in the order presented to resolve the issue.
Step one: Turn the printer off and then on
1. Disconnect
the USB cable from the printer.
2. Turn
the printer off and on again, and make sure that it is in a ready state.
Step two: Remove the printer from Devices and Printers
1. Right-click
or touch and hold the bottom left side of the screen, click or tap Search,
and then click or tap Settings.
2. Type
"Devices and Printers" in the Search bar.
3. Click
or tap Devices and Printers.
4. If
multiple icons exist for the printer, remove them all.
Step three: Restart your computer
1. Restart
your computer. You might want to bookmark this page so that you can quickly
return to it.
2. Make
sure that the computer is connected to the Internet.
Step four: Manually install the driver
1. Right-click
or touch and hold the bottom left side of the screen, click or tap Search,
and then click or tap Settings.
2. Type
"Devices and Printers" in the Search bar.
3. Click
or tap Devices and Printers.
4. Click
or tap Add a printer. The Add Printer window opens, and
displays a list of printers.
5. Click
or tap The printer that I want isn?t listed.
6. Click
or tap the option Add a local printer or network printer with
manual settings, and then click or tap Next.
7. Click
or tap the Use an existing port drop-down list, click or tap LPT1:
(Printer Port), and then click or tap Next.
